Study of Kazakh Boy in Turquoise and Red

11×14″ One hour study for a larger painting.

I just finished this study of a Kazakh boy from a photograph we took on a trip to the far northwest of China in 2006.  It’s a study for a larger painting that will be 30×40″.  I find that it’s really helpful for me to do a smaller study first so that I get a better idea of what color palette and composition I’d like to have for my larger, more complete piece.

My studies are for sale at more affordable prices, but this particular study will be part of a silent auction for my friend Shelley Schreyer and her life-giving art studio in East Austin.  More details to come!
