Mother and Child #1. 8×24″ Oil on Gessoboard. 2013. Up For Auction.*

This Friday, October 25th, 2013, Refugee Services of Texas and Women of Vision are hosting an art showcase and silent auction benefiting central Texas’ Survivor of Trafficking Program.

Artists and craftspeople are donating artwork and jewelry for this special event.  I will be donating a piece specially created for this art show and auction in the hopes that this will help support these brave survivors.

The above piece, “Mother and Child #1,” would normally sell for $280, but for this event, bidding will begin at 50% of that price, at $140.

I would like to personally invite you to attend.  Please help local survivors of trafficking by attending and participating in the silent auction.  You could also go home with a beautiful piece of art or jewelry!

Click on the invitation link here and add your name to the guest list.  Please feel free to share this on facebook and twitter and invite your friends and family.  Thank you and I hope to see you there!

*I created this piece especially for this auction.  A regular theme in my work is the strength of attachment and unconditional love between a mother and her child and how that is a reflection of the attachment and love we have with God.  In any culture, anywhere in the world, this attachment and love  is universal and transcendent and has the power to bring healing to even the most painful life story.
